At Pegasus Preschool, we endeavour to create a safe and nurturing home like environment where children can grow and learn. Our centre philosophy revolves around the child’s development and well-being. We strive to build a meaningful partnership with parents, their family and the greater community, which creates a feeling of acceptance and a sense of belonging, therefore maximising the child’s potential and developing the foundation for future success and learning.

Pegasus Preschool is licensed by the Department of Community Services to care for 30 children per day, and is staffed in accordance with the departments requirement relating to qualifications and staffing levels.

We are an accredited centre, and we continuously aim for the highest achievement of accreditation, which also means that our parents are eligible to claim Child Care Benefits (CCB). The CCB is a payment made by the Commonwealth Government to help families with the cost of quality child care. A family’s eligibility is subject to an income test, which is administered by the Family Assistance Office (FAO).

It is the responsibility of the parent to register for CCB. Information and forms can be accessed from the Family Assistance Office (through Centrelink) or families can call direct on 136 150.

Hours of Operation
While our centre’s preschool program operates between 9.00am and 3.00pm, the centre also offers Long day Care for those parents who seek all the benefits of preschooling for their children, with flexibility of extended hours for work or urgent commitments.

The Preschool opens at 7.30am and closes at 6.00pm for both preschoolers and after school care.

Preschool operates Monday to Friday for 50 weeks a year. We are closed all public holidays (fees do apply), and for two weeks over Christmas (Fees not charged). It is our policy that all families pay a bond upon enrolment, which is a refundable enrolment fee and their fees one week in advance (this includes current week plus one). The parent must then continue to pay the weekly fee in advance in order to maintain a credit balance equivalent to one week of fees.

Values

We value our children and childhood by providing a fun learning environment for children to engage in meaningful play, which invites and cultivates children’s curiosity, imagination and confidence.
We value our children as being unique individuals and recognise that they are diverse in their development, needs, abilities, interest and are given equal opportunities through an inclusive approach.
